Prague Overview Tour / all tours are private

Duration: approx. 4hrs + 30mins free for coffee break (can be tailored to your schedule and interests). UNESCO World Heritage Site

Price: from 4.400 CZK (for 2 people)

The historic center of Prague stretches along both banks of the Vltava River. It is common for visitors to divide their sightseeing over two days. The two parts of the city are connected by the famous medieval Charles Bridge, decorated with Baroque statues.

On the left bank, Prague Castle dominates the skyline together with the Hradčany district, which takes its name from the castle (Hrad / a castle). Below the castle lies the picturesque Lesser Town (Malá Strana). On the right bank is the historic heart of the city, centered around Old Town Square with its famous Astronomical Clock. The right bank has always been the livelier and busier part of Prague.

In the 14th century, the Czech king and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV expanded this area by founding a new district called the New Town. The name has remained to this day, even though it was “new” in the Middle Ages. It is true that during the 19th and 20th centuries the New Town was rebuilt more extensively than the rest of the historic center, which is why it offers not only historic monuments but also fine examples of Art Nouveau and avant-garde architecture.

The tour can therefore be adapted in both time and theme to suit each visitor. The most popular option consists of two four-hour tours, with an additional free half-hour break for coffee, tea, or a light snack. During this time, visitors can either walk through all four historic districts at a faster pace to gain an overall impression of the city’s size and richness, or choose a slower pace and devote one four-hour tour to each riverbank.

Kutná Hora – from Silver Rush to Sacred Art

(additionally Empire-style Kačina Chateau and Romanesuqe St. James Church)

Duration: 6 hours (1 hour drive away from Prague)

Price: 9.500 CZK (1 to 6 people)

UNESCO World Heritage Site

Thanks to its rich silver deposits, Kutná Hora ranked among the most important cities in Europe during the Middle Ages and was the second most significant city of the Kingdom of Bohemia after Prague. At one point, up to one third of all silver mined in Europe came from this area. In the 13th century, the town experienced a true silver rush, during which the original mining settlement was transformed into one of the wealthiest and most prestigious cities of its time.

The city’s most prominent landmark is the Church of St. Barbara, the patron saint of miners, built by the same architects who worked on Prague Castle. Narrow streets leading toward the historic town square still recall Kutná Hora’s medieval origins and its former glory.

In the 17th century, a monumental Jesuit College was constructed; today it houses the GASK Gallery and attracts lovers of modern art from across the country. Art naturally extends into the adjacent gardens, where the terrace in front of the college, lined with Baroque statues, evokes the atmosphere of Prague’s Charles Bridge.

On the outskirts of Kutná Hora lies the world-famous Sedlec Ossuary, whose interior is uniquely decorated with human bones arranged into symbolic patterns. The tour also includes a visit to the oldest cathedral in Central Europe, rebuilt in the Baroque period by the brilliant architect Jan Blažej Santini, who masterfully combined the original Gothic structure with innovative Baroque aesthetics.

The excursion can be extended with a short visit to the Empire-style Kačina Château, located just a 10-minute drive away, as well as the Romanesque Church of St. James. A pleasant stop can be made at the Ruthardka restaurant with its garden, situated in the city’s oldest street of the same name.

Kutná Hora is located approximately one hour’s drive from Prague and is an ideal destination for a day trip.

On this trip, I will take you to the picturesque Lusatian Mountains (Lužické Hory), the heart of Czech glassmaking, where glass has been produced continuously since the Middle Ages. Over the centuries, this region has earned a worldwide reputation that it proudly maintains to this day through exceptional craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation.

During the tour, you will step into the world of glassmaking—not only as observers. Under the guidance of experienced master glassmakers, you will have the opportunity to try glassblowing yourself and experience firsthand the fascinating process of creating a unique work of art.

We will visit two prestigious glassworks whose bespoke luxury pieces are exported around the globe. A highlight is the tour of the glassworks itself, where you can watch glassmakers at work, as well as a stroll through the enchanting garden filled with monumental glass sculptures.

For lunch, we will stop at the nearby Ajeto Glassworks in Lindava. One of its co-founders was the world-renowned designer Bořek Šípek, who served as the chief architect of Prague Castle during the presidency of Václav Havel. Ajeto is behind numerous major projects, including the trophies for the Tour de France, and is now part of the Lasvit group—a global leader in creating large-scale lighting installations for luxury hotels and public spaces worldwide. Český Krumlov Castle, České Budějovice and Hluboká Chateau – the charm of the South Bohemia

Duration: Full day trip, 2hrs to the first destination. UNESCO World Heritage Site

Price: 13.500 CZK (for 1 to 6 people) with a private driver and private guide + admission to selected interiors

Join me on a journey to the popular South Bohemia region, located approximately a two-hour drive away, where we will visit three remarkable historical landmarks.

The highlight of the trip is the Český Krumlov Castle and Château, one of the most important monuments of European cultural heritage. The picturesque area below the castle, with its richly decorated burgher houses and narrow streets lining the Vltava River, has preserved its authentic medieval atmosphere to this day. The entire historic center of the town is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Nearby lies the university city of České Budějovice, founded by the Czech king in 1265. Its pride is a spacious historic square covering 1.7 hectares (4 acres), dominated by a historic town hall. In the winding streets of the city, you will find cozy cafés, and in the shade of the Dominican monastery you can taste beer from a local microbrewery located in a former salt warehouse.

The final stop is the elegant Hluboká nad Vltavou Château, surrounded by an extensive English-style park and complemented by an important art gallery housed in the former stables. Both Český Krumlov Castle and Hluboká Château offer visits to richly preserved historical interiors.

Thanks to its exceptional concentration of historical monuments and its picturesque landscape, South Bohemia ranks among the most popular holiday regions in the Czech Republic.

Litomyšl – Spa for the Soul

Duration: full day trip; two hours drive from Prague. UNESCO World Heritage Site

Price: 12.000 CZK for 1 to 6 people with a private driver and a guide + admission to selected interiors

Litomyšl, founded in 1259, is a remarkable place on the cultural map of the Czech Republic, celebrated for its sensitive dialogue between historical heritage and contemporary architecture. The town’s greatest pride is its Renaissance château, whose richly decorated interiors can be visited on guided group tours or, by prior arrangement, privately.

At the heart of Litomyšl lies a charming main square lined with well-preserved historic houses and arcades, home to boutique shops, cosy cafés, excellent restaurants, and small private galleries. A highlight of the visit is the Baroque Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross, an outstanding example of modern architectural revitalisation by renowned Czech architect Josef Pleskot, whose work can also be found at Prague Castle.

Another unique stop is the Portmoneum, the former home of art collector Josef Portman. Its interior walls are entirely painted by his close friend, visionary artist and writer Josef Váchal, offering a powerful and immersive view of his mystical perception of the world. Váchal’s artist books are considered among the most important achievements of 20th-century Czech graphic art.

Music lovers will appreciate a visit to the birthplace of Bedřich Smetana, one of the most celebrated composers of classical music and the author of the symphonic cycle Má vlast (My Homeland).

As a tribute to the composer, the prestigious international music festival Smetana’s Litomyšl is held every June, transforming the entire town into a true “spa for the soul” — a title coined by respected town’s former mayor after plans to establish a real thermal spa ultimately fell through.

An optional excursion leads to the nearby village of Osík, where the private contemporary art gallery White Box is located. This striking standalone pavilion set in a garden functions as both exhibition space and art depot encircling it, and can be visited by prior arrangement.

For lunch, I recommend the acclaimed restaurant Aplaus, known for its refined Czech cuisine and elegant atmosphere.

The tour also features an exhibition dedicated to the artistic work of imprisoned professional artists, whose activities were to a limited extent tolerated as part of Nazi propaganda. Visitors not only gain insight into the tragic history of the town during the WWII, but also have the opportunity to admire the unique military architecture of this late-18th-century fortress town.
