Prague is unique for its exceptionally well-preserved Jewish heritage, including historic synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery, which survived the hardships of World War II. This tour offers an insight into the rich history, spirituality, and cultural legacy of Prague’s Jewish community.
During the walk, we will visit the Old-New Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in Europe, and the Old Jewish Cemetery, founded in the 15th century and home to the grave of the renowned Rabbi Maharal, also known as Rabbi Löw. The tour also includes the Pinkas Synagogue, a deeply moving memorial to the local Jewish victims of the Holocaust, whose names cover the interior walls.
As the main Jewish landmarks are located within a compact area, the tour is easy and not physically demanding. Optionally, the itinerary can be extended to include the Jerusalem Synagogue, built in the early 20th century in a striking Moorish Revival style.
