Set off on a four-hour gourmet walking tour that will guide you through the very best of Czech cuisine – from recipes perfected over centuries to today’s contemporary food trends.
During the tasting experience, we will visit several carefully selected venues. You will discover not only new flavors, but also local dining customs and the stories of places that have survived every political regime, as well as cafés where Czech culture was shaped through lively debates.
You will sample traditional dishes paired with Czech beer, for which the country is famous worldwide. Who doesn’t know Pilsner Urquell – the original Pilsner lager? Enjoy the way it should be: perfectly tapped, with care and passion.
The menu features classics of home-style Czech cooking such as svíčková -beef in a creamy vegetable sauce with bread dumplings, roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut (vepřo knedlo zelo), or sweet dumplings filled with seasonal fruit, and much more.
Czech pastry-making, which gained international acclaim during the First Czechoslovak Republic (1918–1938), still thrives today. You will taste beloved desserts that remain popular despite modern trends: větrník, věneček, kremrole, laskonka, and the legendary rakvička (small casket). Yes, casket. Together with věneček (small wreath), they are commonly referred to as “funeral pastries”.
We will not forget the traditional chlebíček – an open-faced sandwich topped with potato salad and a hard-boiled egg, inseparable from celebrations, social gatherings, and even intermissions at the National Theatre. And to round off the experience, you may also enjoy high-quality slivovice, a plum brandy from the eastern region of Moravia.
This tour is ideal for anyone who wants to experience Czechia truly with all their senses.
